Expressive Arts Therapy - Private

In private sessions, we meet 1:1 over JaneApp or Zoom for 60 or 90 minutes. We will start with a check in to uncover what you might want to explore during the session or you may already have an idea of what you want to delve into. In virtual appointments, you will use your own art materials. Sessions are a combination of talking and making. Our time together is collaborative and I will guide and witness you in your process. I will not diagnose or interpret your art or art making process. This is an opportunity for you to be curious, play, explore, ask questions, and determine your own meaning.

Outdoor Expressive Arts Therapy

We will meet in person at Central Park in so-called Burnaby. Our sessions will be a combination of walking, talking, and making with found natural objects. This is an opportunity to engage in nervous system regulation and grounding within a forest setting, utilize non-traditional art materials in making, and connect with nature. In these sessions, you’re encouraged to touch, notice, build, and get your hands dirty.

Community Groups

I offer in person and online groups for the community. Although these sessions may feel therapeutic, they are not therapy and not a replacement for private therapy sessions. They are an opportunity to get curious, make, and share with others. Please follow my Instagram [at]hello[dot]fioritura or sign up for my newsletter to stay up to date with community offerings.

Scrapyard
Scrapyard is using what has already been started. It’s a response guided by creative writing and mark making. Scrapyard is a space to share, process and be witnessed. We are curious about how writing and art making speak to one another, work together, and inform one another. Let’s explore how we can discover new possibilities as writers and artists when we explore the two forms in tandem. Scrapyard is a collaboration between Heather Saluti of Fioritura Expressive Arts Therapy and Meg Max, founder of Writers in Bloom. You can learn more about Meg and Heather below.

Registration for Scrapyard is offered monthly, with the theme changing each month. January’s Leftovers themed series begins on Thursday January 25, and runs for 4 weeks from 12am-2pm EST/9am-11am PST on Zoom.

Scrapyard is offered on a sliding scale from $100-$150.

Payment plans are available, please email Meg.

Refunds are not available, unless the event is canceled by the organizers, or the minimum number of registrants for the event to run is not met. However, if you've registered in good faith and circumstances have arisen that make it truly impossible for you to attend, please reach out. If we can fill your spot from our waitlist, we will do so. Otherwise, your request will be reviewed and a refund may be offered on a case by case basis.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

CREATIVE SPIRITUAL PRACTICE looks like, but is not limited to:

RITUAL
What is ritual? How do ritual(s) show up in your life already? I support you in connecting with your ancestral lineage to explore the ways culture, ritual, and traditions may be brought into your daily creative life.

REFLECTION / INTENTION
How has your connection to spirituality shown up throughout your life? We will spend time working with objects and finding out what information they offer.

COMMUNITY
You’ve developed a creative spiritual / magical practice, now what? Let’s explore how to identify and connect with others who are in this work.

NEURODIVERGENT SUPPORT
looks like, but is not limited to:

EXPLORING FRIENDSHIP
What qualities you seek in relationships? What are boundaries? How can you tend to and activate boundaries to make sure you and your friend(s) feel seen and heard? What makes a good friend? What do you offer as a friend? I will meet you where you are at in terms of knowledge surrounding friendship.

ADVOCACY / ACCESS
How do you advocate for yourself? How would you like to? What are your access needs? Together we will explore how to integrate your access needs into your home, work, and social life.

Some areas of supporting:
- making sense of a class curriculum and/or assignment
- being an idea sounding board
- assisting in connecting ideas to strengthen goals or personal projects
- resume, CV, and cover letter assistance

GRIEF SUPPORT
Grief support looks different for everyone because grief shifts and changes so frequently. Grief doesn’t ever go away, but rather, we find ways to integrate that grief into our life. We grow and change around that grief. Grief is not just sadness. Grief is a spectrum of emotions.

Some ways of supporting:
- identifying and establishing creative grief practice
- holding space for you to talk candidly about who you are grieving
- assisting in building grief and/or ancestor altars
- developing intentional grief time/space
- building an ongoing relationship with the person you are grieving

END OF LIFE CARE
If you or someone you love is approaching final stages of life, I offer guidance in building creative legacy. This may be making photo memory books, recording memories/dreams/wishes, letter writing, taking photos, supporting in building a comfortable space as the final breaths happen.
